OK for the money but licensed games are far from ideal replicas or ports

I love stranger things, I'm an 80's kid, loved arcades, I collect vintage handheld gaming systems so this was it a bull's eye buy for me. For my money (less than $30 at the time of writing) I like it and agree that it's a decent collector's item from Stranger Things. However, my expectations of the games have not been met. There are about 20 games, most of which are remade Stranger Things games but with an 80s arcade vibe right at home. I'm pretty happy with those 15 (or so) games. I have a problem with licensed games. PacMan is of course as much a classic arcade game as there is, and I thought it would play just like the original (I've been playing perfect arcade versions for almost 30 years; it takes almost no processing power to accurately recreate this old game) . . the game). Instead, the version is very slow, with little lag, and while it looks pretty good, it plays worse than any other version I've seen (yes, it's even worse than the Atari 2600 version; at least it plays smoothly ). I have an even smaller "arcade mini" version of PacMan in my collection, and by comparison this version plays almost exactly like the original arcade version. I'm not a purist, but if the game isn't actually even playable then it's just a fun and interactive collectible, but it doesn't live up to my expectations in that regard. All in all, of course, this is a nice little collectible toy. and would make a great gift for just about any nerd in your life, but don't expect to enjoy the licensed game (or at least don't expect it to be playable anywhere near the original arcade versions).
