I got my book today and what I see are really good bases for many levels - and some patterns (like on the tams) that are fresh and unique. The colors Mel uses are neutral. /warm - Things you want to wear and wear all the time that are flattering and soft in all the right ways. I love the slouchy cardigan - it has a lovely finish that wraps around the piece - and I think I might be the first to try it on. Your lace gloves are wonderful and most of what I've seen in the book so far has very strong shapes/styles that can be worn up or down and should be done fairly quickly for experienced knitters. In addition to some of the basic hats, gloves and scarves, she has these gorgeous shorts - what a great style for California - they are simple but fresh and innocent - like the clothes I wear to young women in Parisian parks in spring/summer see. I would make hoods too - I'd wear them here - and probably make them as gifts for friends and family who live in colder climates - they look like they'll fit comfortably under warm coats - and won't be too bulky. On these cold foggy days I might need one for me in LA! The basket bag is gorgeousโthe simple answer to that bag that makes you want to grab and run out the doorโand it has a certain texture and style to it. The gloves in the basket weaving photo have a similar pattern to Mel's gorgeous diamond sweater - I think it was from a Vogue book - so I might need a pair of these gloves to go with it. Lace Gloves - Lulu Scarf - Lots of great options plus some tips and yarn substitutes to help make them your own. I look forward to working on more great and reliable products. Thanks Mel for the great new ideas! to work on more great and reliable products. Thanks Mel for the great new ideas! to work on more great and reliable products. Thanks Mel for the great new ideas!
