I am very happy with this backup camera/monitor. Easy to install; surprisingly cheap (less than $30); very good image sharpness and clarity, including a bright infrared image in total darkness. The only minor complaint about the image color in daylight is that the trees look purple no matter how the Hue and Saturation sliders are adjusted. I would buy it at that price even if it was only black and white (and it could be adjusted that way if the abnormal color bothers you). I just wired it up for use with the cigarette lighter switch for simplicity (no need to put it in reverse to see the picture). I don't understand several reviewers who said it wouldn't work with this compound; Either the device was defective or incorrectly wired. While installing these wired units is initially more cumbersome than installing a wireless connection – running cables from the trunk lid to the dash (hiding) and fastening them – it's worth it in the long run in my opinion: with wireless connection, simply hardwiring saves money; is a one-off additional work; and is less likely to fail temporarily or permanently than a system that requires wireless communication between the camera and monitor.
