I used to buy a water hose at the airport, but haven't flown with bottles for a long time. I wanted to bring home some wine, beer, olive oil and blood orange juice for Thanksgiving, but had to fly out at the last minute due to poor weather/driving conditions. This pack of wine bottle protectors was amazing! They felt solid, protected, and fairly well padded; I really liked the extra removable air cushion insert, the double zip and also the Velcro to close everything. They were versatile enough for the items I needed to pack (including the more rectangular 1 liter olive oil bottle and the rectangular 32 ounce/1 quart paper/cardboard juice container) and it was great. To be extra careful, I put the one with the juice in an extra plastic bag, just in case, and lined the inside of my luggage (for context, it was a standard carry-on size with a padded travel side) with bubble wrap wraps, wraps, and towels . While I really liked the wine protectors and found them to be fairly reliable, I would still recommend taking extra care and packing to give the bottles the best possible protection. There were some questions about the contents, but TSA didn't seem to need to open my bag to check. Everything arrived safe and sound 100%! As these protectors seem to do well for repeated use I am very happy with the purchase.
