I have a number of devices. PD (phone) power adapter (20W), laptop charger (65W), KVM with USB-C input, portable monitor with USB-C, Chromebook with USB-C (alt DP and charging), Windows PC (Alt-DP and loading), Windows PC with Thunderbolt 3 and Nintendo Switch. These cables handled every scenario and combination I could think of. My Windows PC with Thunderbolt is very picky about cables and gave me a warning when I tried this with an AC adapter to use a 'nominal' charger. Experience has taught me that all of this means the PC knows it's not a Thunderbolt cable with a special chip inside, but will still charge at the expected full speed.
