I was wary of using the HP adapter in the car (e.g. to listen to audio books downloaded from YouTube on long journeys). This charger is similar to OEM. Reliable, durable and well thought out. The EliteBook 8470p's BIOS and power management circuitry controls battery charging, whether power is supplied by an OEM power supply or a PWR+ DC adapter. So there is (based on a laptop) no difference in terms of the "best" power supply.
