Typical Corsair in every way

What can I say - when it works it works well, and when it doesn't, as Corsair products often don't work in my experience, you're left with a huge headache . The physical structure is quite simple. I upgraded from an old Commander Mini. Please note that there are no cheap microdigital connectors like on older devices, which is both a good and a bad thing. That's good because those connectors kept breaking and didn't work well, but bad because it means some of the older products aren't compatible with Commander Pro and can't be physically connected. They make a digital jack to USB jack adapter; I have one that came with my Corsair PSU when I bought it. The real bummer of all this, aside from the price, which like all Corsair products is too high, is the software side. You'd think that after years of constant customer problems (check out the Corsair support forums), Corsair Link was able to come up with reliable drivers and firmware that just worked. I've had and still have issues with Corsair Link on my Commander Mini, mostly with Commander Pro and to a lesser extent Corsair iCUE. The computer keeps giving me errors about not recognizing USB devices, which I've traced back to that. It took me forever to get him to see my CPU cooler. Correction? Just unplug and plug in about a dozen times until it only "starts" once. I don't know how to explain it, I just know that it's been working ever since, and I don't dare touch it lest it break again. If you go to the Corsair forums you will see that other people are also having many similar problems. My impression is that Corsair doesn't really "hear" their customers and doesn't use that feedback to improve future products. I've also sent tickets directly to Corsair for help and have usually received scathing replies, very unhelpful support reps, or just an apology and they couldn't do anything. Corsair's support is just terrible and for the most part I've dealt with it now. This experience I have had with this product aligns pretty much with Corsair's course. I swore I stopped buying their products after my K95 RGB keyboard showed signs of malfunctioning. I bought this Commander module simply because I already had many compatible items that could work with it and I wasn't ready to switch to a competitor. I'd happily do it though - the extra money spent on a brand new system from one of Corsair's competitors would probably be a good investment I think. Save money and go EVERY route but this one.
