First of all, it's very cute. Holds good volume. The lid of the bowl is great... Hot isn't it?: Not really. Even after cooking in boiling water and heating the food to the highest possible temperature, it doesn't stay hot for long. The lid is not insulated, allowing heat to escape through the wide neck. Dinner was warm downstairs, not hot. (Maximum about 4 hours for a soup, less than 2 hours for a hot meal.) After that you have a cold lunch and can't microwave it unless you bring a plate or bowl and the microwave. .Cold?: Pretty good. Keeps food cold/cold for a short time. If you want to take cold food to work or elsewhere, the soaking time is long enough to go to the office and put it in the fridge. But that's not the point I guess for most of us... We've never tried it for coffee as some reviewers say it's great for coffee. With a wide mouth, it cools down quickly. And then cold coffee and grumpy time. Oh! Did I mention lid leaks? That would be a failure of the coffee and that sucks. It's easy to clean, but don't wet the lid too much or drop it in water - it will fill up. (Remember, it leaks). We returned them.
