Review on πŸ’» Platinum Pass Through CAT6a/CAT6 23AWG UTP Cable Connector (100-Piece Set) – RJ45 Ethernet Network End by Tom Beland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Work with almost all RJ45 crimping machines. 100% reliable for me, way for Cat6

I'm a homeowner and prefer wired networks, so I sometimes run new cables through walls or repair patch cords myself. These connectors worked great with my cheap crimping tools. These modular plugs (plug is a vague term) are a bit more expensive but install fairly quickly and have proven 100% successful for me. The lack of disappointment is more than worth the price. I used it to repair four category 6 stranded patch cables. I used it to assemble the cable a second time. I previously installed 2 category 5 modular plugs to fix the category 5 cable. You need to use a schematic (free online) and a crimping tool, but you can do it with a cheap regular RJ45 crimping tool, you don't need a nice but expensive platinum instrument. If you know what you're doing, feel free to stop here. If you need application tips, please continue. Please watch the video on YouTube but here are the key points or nice differences associated with this design. These Cat6 modular plugs require you to strip about 2.5 to 3 inches of the jacket, remove the serrations, straighten and untangle the wires as much as possible, and thread them through the plug one at a time until they come out the other side. There is a need to unravel yourself from time to time, but there is no need to bother with it. Check carefully that the wires went through the correct holes, insert the wires as far as possible, making sure the sheath fits under the tab that secures it after crimping, crimp (maybe a couple of times ), make sure that the sheath cannot be pulled out of the connector (start with a slight tug on the sheath and go to the middle, if the sheath pops out you will have to restart even if the wires remain inside) , and use a sharp exacto knife to cut the wires flush to the front of the connector. Test and install. The average mechanically inclined person won't have a problem, but a cheap pliers + hole punch and jacket cutter + tester combo pack is the minimum specialized tool kit you need, no matter how easy you think you can take off your jacket. without damaging the cable insulation. These are excellent CAT6 RJ45 modular plugs.
