Review on πŸ‘— Timeless Elegance: Women's Retro Black Formal Clothing Collection by Kenneth Stanford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice dress even on a toned figure

I have a condition called lipedema which affects both my legs and arms making them larger than usual and a bit oddly shaped. (Lipedema is often overlooked by doctors, so if you have large feet that diet or exercise doesn't seem to help, you might want to check, look it up, and then talk to your doctor.) Me too. 5ft tall, legs and arms slightly shorter than average even for my height. (I have a 25" inseam.) I wear a 34DD/DDD. My waist is 31 inches, hip height is 41 inches, hips including buttocks are 52 inches and my legs are large. I usually wear size 14 or 16 bottoms and medium or large top depending on the arms and bust. It's like taking a slightly chubby 5ft 11in hourglass woman, smashing her 11in and shortening her limbs. I hate my body and I hate shopping for clothes. However, my husband and I have a family wedding and he is wearing a tuxedo. I needed something I wouldn't want to cry or hide from and something elegant enough not to look out of place, I came across this dress and gave it a go. I was going to go for the XXL but after reading the reviews I decided on the XL. It fits perfectly. If my legs and hips were a little smaller I could get tall with the amount of stretching. When I'm not looking at my feet, I like it. My husband and daughter think it looks great on me. I usually wear either a higher or lower neckline than him, but I really can't complain. The fabric is much softer than I expected and drapes beautifully. I almost feel beautiful in it. The lining, which is probably increased to my size, hits just above the knee, while the outer lace layer hits a few inches below the knee, which is about mid-calf on me. Due to the difference between the bust, waist and hips, the waist doesn't fit like I would expect someone else to, but that's not a bad thing at all. I won't post pictures but I hope the measurements help someone.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
