I have two Newfoundlands so a soft grip is a must, but a travel pen is a godsend. I've had this leash for 8 months now and it's still holding up great. Since my dog is still in the puppy stage, she wants to pounce on every stranger she meets on the street and chase every squirrel she sees. The motion control handle makes it very easy to keep them close and their feet on the ground. It's also very handy when I have both dogs at pet parties or other events where I need to hold each side by side with one hand. I've been asked by a few other dog owners where I got this leash from and that's usually a good sign that the product is great. I would like to point out that I have tried many different lines over the years and the only one I have ever found comes even close to being Kong. The maximum length of this leash was only 4ft which was a disadvantage and out of the 3 different leashes of the same model I bought, 2 had faulty clasps (I was walking my dog on a leash and all of a sudden he stopped at the collar attached). I haven't had a single problem with the Primal Pet Gear.
