I've tried almost every pastel pencil sharpener on the market. They all gnawed through the wood and broke the delicate pastel core. I figured the only option would be to use an Xacto knife and sandpaper. And I certainly didn't think that this simple, inexpensive sharpener would be better than the others. SURPRISE SURPRISE ! This little sharpener is great! I bought a couple for myself and another artist friend. This sharpener costs twice as much. Maybe we shouldn't tell the manufacturer as they might raise the price! LAUGH OUT LOUD !
