Quality assembly with some problems

Overall well assembled product. After years of use on my 2005 F450 I have to say the following. In general the design is good. A year ago, when it was first installed, the sight glass and the drain plug were leaking. It's okay, the silicone sealant worked fine. If the manufacturer uses a G-thread and rubber washer for the gasket, use at least a C-hole to hold the gasket. The rubber seal simply slips off and causes a leak. I like the shot peened finish but radiator cap threads, sealing surfaces and threads should never be shot peened. My sight glass started dripping from the glass itself. Whoever said you can't find these viewing glasses, you didn't look very hard. I didn't like that they used a G thread and now a stuffing box so I rethreaded it to 1/2NTP. I bought a 250ยฐF brass scope cap. If I have to remove the tank again, I also close the drain plug. So for the money I would buy again. Recut the holes with NTP and purchase a suitable temperature sight glass. However, in line with what others are asking for changes. Supplier/Manufacturer: Do not pinch threads, fix sealing problem with appropriate rubber seal C-bore or use NTP and sight glass at appropriate temperature.
