Very unreliable user interface

This device works great as a real time pulse oximeter but good luck trying to get it working as a recorder. The software can now only be downloaded from the Internet (no disc). It will download as an obscure ZIP file. I had to download the latest version of Winzip to extract the files as my decompression application wasn't working. Finally installed the application on the desktop and earned a real-time monitor. I tried writing data and then downloading it to a computer following the instructions in the manual that came with it. By the way, the information in the manual is incorrect. Finally figured out how to get the data to upload, at least to the point where the program told me the file was uploaded successfully. I can't find it anywhere. It does not appear in the files to view. Bottom line, this is a very poorly supported product and if you don't want to spend a lot of time troubleshooting software, buy something else. I spent all day trying to get it to work and finally got it working by downloading an older version of the software from a site other than the manufacturer's site (I have a four year old Windows 7 computer) . You must disable write mode before loading data (not mentioned). It is also important to keep the device on your finger so that it does not switch off during the download. If it is not lit, then the program does not see it (also not mentioned in the instructions). There are a number of programs on the internet that may work with this device, but you'll have to search for them and then you're in luck. My guess is that if you have a newer computer running Windows 10, the software that comes from their website might be suitable for you. If not, get ready.
