The sharpener is easy to use and makes my filleting knife very sharp. I've cut a lot of chicken breasts with my knife and it seems to dull pretty quickly, especially if I get too close to the bone. 3-4 passes with a sharpener and it's like new. I also use it on my pocket knives and it does a decent job but I think it was made for the sharpening angle of thinner filleting knives. I could get 2nd place just for my other knives. I think the stones will adjust to the different edge angle of the thicker blades. I have no doubt that it will be.
