I was very surprised that distilled water is needed for this because it is not listed in the product description. It's only written in small letters in the instructions. Distilled water will significantly increase the cost of its use. The cleaning instructions are also difficult to understand. It says to clean the "diaphragm" with a cotton swab and vinegar, but the diagrams in the owner's manual don't list or show the diaphragm, so it's not clear where it's located. I think I know where it should be, but it doesn't look like a membrane and I can't see how to get to the membrane. I've tried twisting the area where I think it is but it seems like it's going to stick together forever. The instructions should be much clearer. Be careful where you put it. At least in my house there isn't much room on the bedside table and there's a good chance it will tip over and spill water. The water tank is only put on and not fastened.
