Difficult to program IR for keyboards, mice and accessories

I received this remote in the morning and use it all day without charging right out of the box. Sufficient for approx. 8 hours of continuous use. It can still be used while charging and seems to work if you point it at the room. Difficult to program. I followed the instructions on the back of the controller but I had to do this at least 5 times before it recognized the command. I did this for each button I wanted to program. The USB dongle works fine in my 2019 Sony Bravia 950G. Makes typing easier in Youtube apps and Prime videos. I programmed 6 of the 8 buttons to control the TV settings and the + and - buttons to control the volume on an early 2000's Sony home theater. I wanted to control the directv receiver but the numbers on the keyboard didn't work with the IR settings. I can only activate the "guide" and control the programmable arrows up and down, but as I said, it's difficult to program. It took me 5 tries for the key. I have a Harmony 650 that turns the TV, home theater and DirectV set top box on and off simultaneously with the power button. I couldn't get it to do the same, so I just use this little keyboard when I want to watch premiere movies or play music from videos in YouTube app. It makes things easier by just typing on the keyboard, and the mouse path is really useful too. A small arrow will appear on the TV screen, which you can simply move with your finger. You can double tap and scroll through. There's a slight lag on the pad, but it's almost perfect. not that bad. The material seems hard. like the pocket calculators of the 80s. The backlight is really useful and bright. You get 3 colors. The keys feel rubberized. I doubt it's waterproof so I'll wrap it in plastic in case I spill beer on it when I'm drunk. You can also lock the control panel and keyboard separately to prevent accidental key presses. This is useful if you don't want to use a mouse pad. Now to the people who make this product. If you could get this thing to work like the Harmony 650+ series that would be nice. Make it fully programmable, so we can use 1 remote control to control the entire entertainment system without toggling buttons back and forth. I use harmony to control the volume of the direct TV receiver and home theater. Still, I'm happy with this little keyboard. It's almost the perfect remote control for your entertainment system. I recommend it to anyone who is tired of typing letter by letter with the remote control on a boring on-screen keyboard. I can't wait to dive into my YouTube music search this weekend. thanks Update: The keyboard doesn't work with Directv and Dishnetwork Joey 3 receivers I bought a second keyboard for my daughter and the arrow on the screen doesn't appear on her Samsung TV. The rest of the keyboard works great.
