I think I checked all the options and settled on Magna Guide DMT. It took me a few tries to install the tech. Now I was able to get a knife sharpener than ever before. At least as sharp as the factory. A kind of sharpener. I have successfully repurposed the D2 folder using the four pencil sharpeners included in the kit. Maybe I'll get more information later when I decide to make the best of it. I bought an Ultratec, which is as sharp or sharper than any other new knife, with an angle of about 20 degrees on each side. So I can work on perfecting it first. I like the plastic mount and guide system. It's strong enough to hold a knife blade securely. I suspect those who had trouble with it didn't set it properly. It's a small thing, well designed IMO. I think I made the right choice. I like the magnetic guide bar setup and the foldable diamond stones that DMT makes.
