Works but has some drawbacks

Ok I just had a chance to use this at work this week and this is what I found. Pros - Super light, great for tight spaces, had no issues not switching to a darker shade when TIG welding as others have also quoted a fair price. Cons - it has limitations and I mean the closer you are to the part being welded the more blurry it gets as it's not full screen face to face. A lot of people have trouble with fogging, but I've noticed that at first it looks like it's going to fog up or get cloudy, but that's not because it's daylight the minute you pull that arc off, so have I paid more attention and what I noticed is that it was like you were welding something right in the middle in front of you, the space not having a lens between your eyes would make your vision a bit blurry when you get close would be next. The further away you were the clearer it becomes because your vision is not so restricted you can see more of the area which means you have to do it if you need to be close to a tight spot for welding for example you are relocating your head to one side or the other. a little to get a crystal clear view. If they did that with the rent going right through you, you wouldn't have any problems at all. (That's what I wanted after buying and testing) Overall it works well, I would only recommend it if they don't plan on doing full length (eye to eye) lenses and as long as you're comfortable with that do have a head shift when approaching.

Pros
  • - The interior of the goggles and visor is wide enough to allow the wearer to wear goggles and respirators and an easy connection to a helmet provides excellent protection. The detachable flash holder on the safety light ensures safe driving and better visibility even in the dark.
Cons
  • Crumpled
