I needed something to help our back door stick to the hardwood floor so the dogs wouldn't scratch the floor when exiting... I've tried both these and the dogs are closed noisy and somehow the mat tape stopped sticking after a week or two of wearing. It didn't leave any marks on the floor, which is good considering I live in a rental house. BUT I put carpet tape on the carpet in my room because our room kept trying to vacuum my carpet and it was causing a lot of tears. Carpet so I taped all corners with carpet tape to hold it in place and IT WORKS! Roomba no longer tries to eat my carpet because it can't lift it, so my carpet doesn't tear anymore! After all, I may need to teach my dogs to be less crazy. So if you have crazy dogs in a high traffic area I wouldn't recommend them. Otherwise highly recommended :)
