These Staedtler metal manual pencil sharpeners are perfect for sharpening. The blade is sharp and the large groove makes it easy to remove a broken piece of lead. I didn't have to use this jig however as the sharpener is so well made that I haven't managed to break the guide in the sharpener yet. Just know that there is no catch for scraps thrown away during sharpening. So you don't want the sharpening feature to touch your image so you don't smear little blobs of color across your masterpiece. However, I like these sharpeners more than anything I've tried with an impression holder.
