I have to agree with other posters, this concept is great but some aspects weren't well thought out when it was developed. The first serious problem is the poor choice of glue for attaching the iron plate to the helmet. Under the influence of heat and sun on a typical day, the adhesive will soften and move away from the helmet. I replaced the glue with 3M VHB tape to solve this problem. The second problem is the sensitivity of the gravity sensor. In normal driving, the brake light is never activated, it only works under very rapid braking, which is already too late to be of any use. Third, the switch position is bad. Don't plan on reaching out with your gloved hand to turn it on. Apart from these points, the LEDs work great and their installation is easy. I hope Steelmate will bring some improvements to the design.
