I've always been a blonde but recently decided to switch to a weld platinum. I love the very cool shade of ash platinum and use a purple shampoo to combat brassiness or heat as most timers wash out within a few washes. I've used every purple shampoo imaginable, from drugstore shampoos (Shimmer Lights) to premium salon purple shampoos (Matrix Brass Off, Pravana Perfect Blonde, Joico Color Balance Purple, etc.). Undoubtedly, Fanola Purple Shampoo gives the best results! This is an incredible brass blaster that easily gets rid of unwanted gold/yellow/orange tones in blonde hair. The pigment in this shampoo is phenomenal, it tones and brightens in just one wash! Some purple shampoos can be very dry and hair feels like straw, but I've never had this problem with Fanola! The only downside is that it leaves stains on your hands, especially if you have dry skin on your hands like me. make! I now always wear gloves when using it and just keep a pair under the sink when I plan to wash my face with Fanola. On the plus side, it doesn't mess up the tub or sink like some other purple shampoos. It has a strong odor like most purple shampoos. It's not a super chemical smell, although it's not unpleasant. I leave it on for 10-20 minutes depending on the tone I want to achieve and then hop in the shower and lather it up while rinsing it off.
