pillowcases have a really smooth surface. It makes a difference in your hair when you sleep on it. I bought these for my daughter as she is very thin headed. I'll do anything as long as it makes our morning routine a little more bearable. It definitely cut what she calls the tour time in half. I would say it's worth every penny. However, two things don't bother me. The fabric sleeps really hot as it breathes at all. Second, there is no return. I have neck issues so I need to be able to position my head where I need it. The fabric doesn't stretch at all. This means it limits your position when applying weight. Basically if it was tightened enough I'm sure you could stand on it. It's not for me, but I'm glad it made my morning more bearable.
