Great tester, especially for field technicians or those who occasionally run cables. I use mine a lot in the field, it has a great tester system. This is my penultimate, probably shorted out on the Poe line. The toner is great. I think it's digital because it doesn't pick up speaker tone and hum, which is great and beats other techs. The Fluke toner that I also have. The check blocks make a sound when passed and are easy to find. I wish it was built a little better, but the features and price outweigh the cons for now. I can get model 8601. Advantages. with 8 for quick wiring cable length (within approximate accuracy) digital toner i think this is great never had trouble finding a line. a bit of abuse Slight learning curve to use but nothing against the device but you'll notice in testing and tracking. It's really easy, you just have to remember which port is used for what and how it works, that's all.
