Review on Supernail Swiss Silk Wrap Self-Adhesive Tabs: 40 Count Convenient Nail Repair Solution by Brandi Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best solution so far

These wraps are not 5 star worthy but better than other things I have tried making them high on my list. The tabs themselves are oversized, larger than most people need to cover an entire nail, but you can cut off sections to get the job done. Removing the silk from the adhesive backing is easy if you use the included pull tab, but not so easy if you're cutting something for a partial repair and don't have the pull tab handy. But it works (I find it easier with tweezers) and then a small thin patch fits well on the nail. Although the glue isn't very sticky, the patch will stay in place (and become transparent) when painted over with nail resin. Once dry I apply my varnish and can't even say the repair has been done and that's with clear varnish, I'm sure it would be even less with colored varnish. My patches hold up well for about a week. I wish it was longer, but even that helps. I have a burr on one of my nails that is quite noticeable and annoying. When I try to file it, the tip breaks in that area and it sticks to things until it breaks to the core. I've tried many things to fix it until it grows out but the problem seems to keep coming back and the fix always looked pretty messy. This silk sheet is by far the best solution. It smooths out the burr so it's less noticeable, and since I put my tongue over the tip of the nail it's protected from snagging and tearing. The app isn't entirely basic, but it's worth it, and given the size of the tabs, I've got patches for as long as I need them.
