I wouldn't say it doesn't work or that it will never be a practical solution. However, after receiving it, seeing it and testing it, I came to the conclusion that it is needed. Aeration research tells me that aged red wines tend to offer more health benefits than the younger or cheaper wines I usually drink. Seems pouring into a carafe would work just as well and be faster. Not to mention it's really just an acrylic jar with a bowl shape in the center and holes in the bottom, and there are probably other items around the house that could be repurposed to do the same thing in the same way. However, you could definitely make it worse. I'm not sorry; I just don't think I'll be using it much and I might even give it away if someone says they like it more than I do.
