I've been hearing about Manfrotto gear for years but never before could afford it. I've always been looking for a cheaper alternative. Never. This tripod and moving head are the perfect combination. Earthquakes won't disturb my kids' soccer games anymore! I needed a smoother head to shoot my son's high school football games and a taller tripod, and this setup fits those needs perfectly. The tripod is solid and has some weight, but you need a solid base for reliable shooting. This tripod and head give you that base. And the head is so smooth that both Gif and Skippy are jealous! In all directions, the head twists and turns flawlessly, with no jerking or hiccups. I'm about 5ft 9" tall and with the tripod fully extended and head attached and a smaller video camera (I use a Canon VIXIA HF G21 on it) it's the perfect height so no up or down strain. to look into your camcorder or camera. I highly recommend this combination of tripod and head. I don't know if the rest of their line is as good, but I can assure you that this kit gives you everything you need in a tripod and head. I just want it to come with a case or bag. At this price point they could add almost anything to carry and protect this amazing rig. I had to buy one separately (I bought a 75cm Manfrotto bag). You have enough room in your bag to keep your head in this bag along with the remote control attached to the swing arm. (It's worth investing in a bag to protect your tripod and head, especially this one.) Do yourself and your shooter a favor and get this setup. You'll love filming this villain at any event your wife wants you to film. It is so good!
