Review on 🐠 Enhance Your Saltwater Tank with Jebao MOW-3 Smart Wave Maker: LCD Display Controller & Magnetic Base by Rachel Marie

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Challenging to set up. Not that powerful.

Over the past 10 years I've used pretty much every powerhead imaginable. This is a very low powered pump and there isn't even a close GPH/LPH on the description and on the pump. Compared to a similarly rated Tunze (as an example) it is 1/4 stronger. To do this, you need a 2.4 GHz WiFi device. I specifically use an older iPad to connect these devices. After that, you can switch back to your phone or a more modern device once it is connected. You must HOLD the pump for a LONG time to enter settings. Then press the middle button below, select the master and from there you can program it. Click on the 1990 3.5" diskette image to save the new configuration. It took me a minute but I see a lot of feedback from people frustrated by this so I thought I should mention it. It's reliable and updates much faster than my Hydros Wave Engine + 2xXF350 Gyre (but not as fast as the Ecotech MPxx. This is especially important when trying to make a wave or just dialing a number. The actual controller is cheaper Crap Buttons are hard to press and don't always work No feedback and buttons sticky Feed button is solid which is honestly the only thing you need but don't plan on using it with a controller or too program, or you'll rip your hair out.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
