I've long been a big fan of keyboard cases, always worried about spilling and ruining my computer. I highly recommend them. I've had my computer for 7 years and plan on having another 7. I've had several silicone cases, one actually broke saving my computer from a falling flower vase, one ripped after a few months of good performance. But these silicone cases had a few downsides: they left an oily residue on the keys underneath the case (my theory is that it's a small amount of oil vapor coming from the computer itself; I disagree with the theory that it's water vapor) . ); they leave marks on the screen when you close the laptop with a cover, which I've stopped doing; and they sometimes don't fit very well at first and stretch more over time; after all, you can't see the backlight with them. As for the feel of the keys, I like the soft, muffled feel and sound of the silicone shell, and it keeps my fingers from sliding over the very slick Mac keys. This case is different. It's less rubbery and more plastic. FITS LIKE A GLOVE. The surface is matt and a bit non-slip - I like that. It's completely transparent so I don't have to take it off to type in the dark. I'll be posting an update shortly on its durability, whether it leaves marks on the buttons and screen, and how easy it is to clean. But judging by the feelings, I only expect the best performance. Excellent investment!
