I needed a new black belt because I have several cheap leather belts that are falling apart. I love that I can cut this belt to any size I want. This is an impressive solid belt. Adjustment takes just a few minutes with a screwdriver, a hammer for the included hole punch, and a blade that can cut through leather. I used a regular razor blade. I tried cutting it for the second narrowest hole to give me some room to stretch if you know what I mean, but I ended up having to wear it by the middle hole because I tried it on the first time had pulled too tight. . Do yourself a favor and use multiple layers of cardboard when punching a new hole. I went through the first 2 layers of an Amazon box. This will help line up the cut piece to figure out where to place the new hole. I think it looks better than the pictures on the product page. The clasp is made of very nice brushed brass. Substantial, attractive and works well. The belt can be used for both casual and more formal occasions. It's not exactly the right belt for clothing, but it will work for most occasions. Due to the design, there are overlapping pieces of leather next to the buckle, but the strap is big enough not to be too noticeable. Leather has some chemical odors mixed with the pleasant smell of leather. The leather appears to be of decent quality, although after the first wear the outer surface took on a mottled/crumpled appearance as if the plastic cover had stretched with wear. So I'm really not sure how long this will actually last, but at least when it's new it's looking pretty good.
