Bought to store stuff in the back of my truck when camping. My main goal was to have something over the bed that prevents things from flying backwards when the wind really gets them or when we hit a bump too hard so things don't move too much and so they meet the requirements fulfill. with state law (I remember reading somewhere that in California all cargo has to be covered with a tarp or cargo netting to keep things from flying away). I was also hoping that if we stopped for gas or something, it would act as an anti-theft device. While I don't think it would hold things in place in the event of a crash, it worked. I would take advice from others that the plastic hooks are bullshit and replace them with metal hooks. The mesh itself is of good quality. I have a ranger with a 6ft bed and laying it on an empty bed was enough to cripple and twist the hooks. It won't really be a huge burden if you actually strain them. However, they are easy to remove. So if you can replace them with metal you have a really good rig that can actually handle a decent amount of weight.
