Review on πŸ”¦ Rite Lite LPL600B Battery-Powered Picture Light by Lukundo Lim

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, nice light tone and looks good with traditional frames

These little lights are great for small pictures. I think they are great for the money. My batteries seem to hold up really well in it too. (I use Revain Triple-As. I bought a box of 100 and it came out for about 20 cents each.) Takes three. There's a choice of two light levels, selected by a knob at one end of the world, a bright setting and a setting that's about halfway up. Both look great on the small oils I applied them to. The lights are available with either a clamp mount or a flat mount designed to be mounted behind the frame, either on the wall or on the frame. The flat mount has a clever notch that allows the light to sit perfectly right on top of the frame I put it on. The lantern itself can be screwed in and out in either of these two alternative mounting options. I use a flat attachment which allows me to just tuck a flat mounting piece behind the already hanging frames and voila, my lovely little photos are finally on display. I don't know if I'll ever actually be able to attach them to frames, they work as is. The light quality is just right for my eyes, but not glaringly white or bluish white, and renders the colors of the images excellently. I usually run mine on medium settings. The light bar sits on a roughly six-inch gooseneck extension that can be bent up, down and sideways a bit, and the light bar cover itself can be rotated about 25 degrees, giving you quite a bit of adjustment. the ability to position the light over the image. I am very happy with these lights. I ordered four more after my first order of three. They look great on my small paintings in traditional gold frames, most of which are plein air. I wouldn't recommend them for large images, but they work great for small ones.
