Review on Yale Assure Lock - Satin Nickel Keypad Door Lock by Debbie Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you are hesitant to buy this ZWAVE lock, don't hesitate.

This is by far the best smart lock I have installed and/or used. I have installed and serviced Kwikset and Schlage locks and this one is the best. It connected instantly, worked great and the battery life is incredible. I hooked them up to a Vera Home Controller and they are aces. The only time this can get weird, which isn't really Yale's fault, is when the door isn't perfectly aligned or you have to manually push the door in to even out seals around the frame. That issue aside, it's quiet, very easy to use and program, and looks amazing. The bolt is actually tapered so it can help take up a slight misalignment, but try to get a smooth ride if you can. You will thank yourself. I have 4 of these for my home and they cost every penny to automate these locks. TIPS: 1 - Always make sure you have an easy access door to your house if you plan to work without a key. Should these locks fail, they can only be opened from the inside. If you have several of them that you can access easily, the chance of them all going down at the same time is REALLY low, but make sure you have a backup plan in case that happens. 2 - Make sure you run these locks "manually" AFTER installation. In this case, the lock determines whether your door is on the right or left (the direction the deadbolt actually locks). Remodeling these locks gives me a bit of a headache, as I've learned the hard way. The instructions are clearly missing this information, so just follow it step by step and you'll be fine.
