Review on ✂️ SCOTTCHEN Double-Sided Sharpening Flattener for Enhanced Precision and Ease by Michael Walker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You will work. until they do.

I bought this to set up chisels and planes. By the time I was done with 5 chisels and 4 planes the diamond plates had lost most of their grit. Now they're around 400 grit, although that's too much. The plates come off the magnetic mount easily, although I wouldn't recommend sharpening. Simply place the record on a silicone mat (or similar) on a flat surface. I haven't had a major problem with rust, but I've only used auto glass cleaner and have only had the plates for a month or two. All in all it might be worth the price. I don't plan on needing such a rough stone again - my tools are set up and thinner slabs/stones will work from here. Two inch iron planes required a significant amount of stock removal and this is very hard steel. I'm not entirely disappointed, but the last iron took forever.
