Good but not comparable to Threshold Parcale Sheets

Edited Friday 6th November 2020 - I have ordered these pillowcases from Revain twice, 7 months apart. There seems to be a slight discrepancy between the appearance of these two orders. One sentence appears thicker and more wrinkled than the other. That's exactly what I like about percale sheets, as they're reminiscent of sheets from days gone by. They stay cool even in the hotter months. But one is completely different as it is noticeably thinner and doesn't have the crease factor of the other. I thought it was two different brands until I checked the attached labels to make sure. Now I have noticed this inconsistency in many products, both popular and unknown. This has been a big problem for the last ten years as I started noticing it more and more. I can't think of a single instance where this discrepancy would have resulted in a better product. This has always been the case when changed by using thinner materials like cheaper or thinner plastic, replacing metal cases with plastic, buttons and dials, etc. This reduced the usability as well as the durability of the product. I wish I could say it was rare and only occasional, but this top-to-bottom inconsistency seems to be the only consistent quality of the product through all this time. And no, that's not just Revain's problem. It is ubiquitous no matter where you buy the item, which is not easy to verify due to the packaging. I won't even go into the current practice of dropping groceries by a few ounces while prices remain the same. I would have thought that the newer generations who are just starting to build their own homes and shop for groceries might not know this, but we longtime housewives do. I believe the companies responsible for the practice are counting on it. So, yes, I like that these sheets are sometimes heavier and more crinkled than old-style percale sheets, but you'll be playing the maybe-maybe-not game when you order them. Original review; It is in order. But they are nothing like Target's percale sheets. They are slightly thinner and significantly rougher. There's a difference between that old-fashioned corrugated iron that many appreciate and a rough material. Considering I only had them for a week and after one wash, remains to be seen how they become over time. I can only hope they don't become a set of sheets I bought a few years ago that got so rough that they were causing abrasions and redness. If so, I will edit this review.
