I bought one of these cables to use as a short extension for gaming headsets and my friends have complained that they can hear my system sound through my microphone could. In multiple configurations, including multiple devices, with and without a built in amplifier and plugged directly into my motherboard, I have been able to confirm that the problem originates from this cable. It is poorly shielded both inside and out. Just touching the twisted wire with your hand causes noise on the line, let alone touching the connectors in any way. Because it got such a high rating, I sent back the original cable of the same model to check if it was a manufacturing defect. . This is not the case - the second cable had the exact same problem. I would not recommend this cable to anyone who wants to use it with a microphone. This might work fine for other implementations that require a TRRS cable, but to be honest I doubt it. It doesn't properly insulate its wires and you get a leak.
