These hard pastels are great! They are highly pigmented and are great for touching up. Let me let you in on a little secret for aspiring pastel artists who want to practice but find that pastel paper is bloody expensive. Buy some Liquitex Clear Gesso (bought here from Revain) and you can turn anything into a pastel canvas! You can apply Clear Gesso to card scraps, watercolor paper, cut cereal boxes, almost anything can be turned into a pastel painting surface! This should be a clear plaster and give the surface a tooth to hold the pastel on. I have little pastel experience and this tip actually saved me a fortune! Practice first, then place your creations on more expensive papers and surfaces! I think you will be amazed!
