Great transmitter/controller for a great wireless system

I've used the Canon wireless system mainly for the off-camera flash, but I've heard good things about the Godox system so I decided to give it a try. and ordered this controller. Besides Canon cameras and flashes, I also have a Sony mirrorless camera and two Godox flashes for Sony - V860IIS and TT350S. For Canon, the only thing I have is a Flashpoint Zoom Mini (made by Godox - equivalent to the TT350C) that I can use with my Canon RP camera. The beauty of this system is that you can use this controller (or a Godox flash) to not control just any Godox and Flashpoint - like the Sony flashes I have - and get Canon ETTL from them. It also controls all Godox studio flashes (other flashes require a Godox receiver). You can even control the modeling light for these probes with XPro. I received the X-Pro C a few days ago. The device is smaller than expected and has very good ergonomics. It's angled so it can be read without tilting the camera up like a Canon controller. It also shows all 5 groups at a glance. The menu is very similar to the Canon menu. Without reading the manual, within minutes I connected it to 2 Sony Godox flashes and a Canon Flashpoint Mini as slaves and all 3 flashes were working. , giving me a perfect ETTL exposure on my Canon RP. I couldn't be happier. With a single (long) button press, ETTL values can be converted to manual values, and flashes automatically switch to manual modes. It's pretty nice. In short I am very happy with the unit and I like the Godox system as I plan to get more serious about installing studio flashes and the Godox system makes it easy and economical to do this without the need for receivers as Flash triggers are required (e.g. Canon, Pocket Wizards or other systems).

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
