I hand waxed my black car once with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax and had very good results. Later with a black pad on my polishing machine hoping to get an even better result and get longer lasting protection but the opposite was better. Just using these wax pads is so bad that I had to redo what I did with the black pad and it wasn't easy to undo the result I got with the black pad. Maybe it's because the Mequiar wax was designed to be applied in a thin film. I'm not sure but I'm sure I will never use this pad to wax my car again, also the pad doesn't seem to last long, it might be good to prep these pads with a pre-wax detergent instead to use for the finish
