They illuminate the upper and lower tree lines! It's absurd how much brighter they are than the factory ones. Especially useful here in the Appalachian foothills. Under $50 on this product is a saving on top of the cost. Not to mention the aesthetics. The first picture shows the stock headlights with only the fog lights changed. The last two sentences are changed together. With conventional portable headlights, now also LED, the fog lights don't shine as intensely. But they still capture the extreme corners, which would not be reached with standard fog lights at this point. Comparing the old and new physically side by side really helped me figure it out.
