Braided cables are good because 1) they don't tangle as much and 2) they are more durable than regular rubber coated cables. LOTS of braided cables, and they're not all the same. Many still do not have a plug/connector retainer and so still fall apart at this junction and will soon deteriorate as the braid wears and the wires are exposed. What I like about them is that the piece of rubber that surrounds the plug/socket on each end is longer than most brands and is designed to be flexible. You'll get a lot more life out of them that way. I have 3 kits at the moment and they have outlasted other brands, enough that I'll just replace all my USB/Lightning cables with this brand and be done with it.
