Two weeks after installation, our 30-foot trailer pulled with its tandem. He was driving at 65 mph and received an alert that the truck's left front tire was rapidly losing air. As I looked for a place to stop, the pressure dropped from 80psi to 70, then 60, then 50 and 40. I stopped at the shoulder, it was lost and uneven. Not the best place to change a wheel. The pressure drop slowed dramatically, so I hobbled down the road to the country store. The valve stem leaked when inserted into the rim. I changed the tire in a flat parking lot and the drama was over. Without TPMS I wouldn't notice anything until it got really bad. Could ruin a tire or something worse. Bought after buying my used dual tire, driving home at 70mph and later realizing the inner dual tire was completely flat on that trip. Luckily it didn't explode. This incident and the infamous "porcelain bombs" on the new trailers worried me. Now I don't have to manually check 10 tires every time we travel. While we have automatic alerts, we keep an eye on the on-screen pressure and temperature as they increase with speed and weather. TPMS is like insurance; If it saves you money then it's money well spent, if you never need it then you've wasted your money. There are no complaints about the product. Bought after a long search. Expensive but worth it
