These sheets are nice and soft and ready to use. They had threads sticking out, but that doesn't seem to affect their durability. They are a beautiful dark purple color. They're not as thick as the others, but living in Florida it's nice to have a lighter sheet for the summer. What I liked the most was the top sheet. One side is glossy, satin and soft, the other side is not as glossy but also soft. Usually with satin sheets, the other side is rough, so rough I can't feel it against my skin. Not on these sheets, I can sleep with them anyway and it's perfect! I was so impressed that I immediately bought a second set. Update: These sheets are still great and hold up well after a few washes with no pilling at all (you know, those pesky messy little balls of fluff that get stuck to some fabrics after long wear)! I always wash in cold water and either line dry or tumble dry on LOW heat. I always wash separately from other clothes (only satin sheets, similar colored pillowcases).
