I ordered 3 rugs according to this pattern - Lyndhurst LNH 212 C - Sage/Ivory When they arrived I put them (still wrapped) in the kitchen until tomorrow morning. When I entered the room I smelled a strange smell. When I opened the smaller one, the smell was overwhelming. I didn't even open the other 2. I know the smell of new carpets. I work in the flooring industry. Almost all new carpets have outgassing that has been present for some time, but this was on a different scale. It smelled seriously like ant spray or bug repellant. They are already returning. I have bought Safavieh rugs before and have not had this problem. In fact, I was recently thrilled to see that I can still buy an extra rug to match what I had a few years ago. It has arrived (no smell) and perfectly matches the original. Same manufacturer, same collection, just a different pattern and color. It seems like you're just taking a chance. Those who say there was an odor or a difference in size have a valid review, as do those who have received the rug and are perfect. I had experience with this style and this brand.
