Once you've repaired the torn welds right out of the box, you've got a pretty decent horse set. Incidentally, there is a lifetime guarantee on all welds. They are very handy and great if you often work outside the truck or have very little storage space. I cannot say for certain that the cracks in the resulting set were missed during factory quality control. As the saying goes, even if a weld pops due to improper handling by UPS, there's still a real quality control issue. Some welds are too hot and others are cold. So much for that American quality I can't get enough of. For now, I'll only chalk it up to a newbie who hasn't spent enough time with the hood down. As annoying as this issue is, I think I'll refer to it again anyway.
