Logitech mk 300 - one year

This is a test of the Logitech MK 300 keyboard and mouse after about a year of use. started to give out and I needed a keyboard. Mouse and keyboard: Both clean very well. With just fabric and a simple green color, they look brand new. Works out of the box on both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu). All the media and special keys I tried worked. Haven't tried Microsoft apps though. Haven't installed any software. Interestingly, the keyboard does not have a power button like the mouse. While not needed from an energy saving standpoint, I'd like to have one for on the go. Keyboard: The battery life is amazing. I've just changed the batteries for the second time, so two AAAs last about 6 months. I don't like that the equivalent right click key is a special function (fn is print screen) which makes it very difficult to use the keyboard in explorer. Mouse: Small, especially for my larger-than-average hands. . All of my fingertips (from tip to nearest knuckle) dangle behind the tips of the buttons. So when I use it, I have to hold it with only my fingertips touching the mouse, and squeeze the sides to move it. It's so small it hurts my arms. The batteries last 4 or 5 weeks, which is surprisingly long compared to my other Logitech mice. The biggest problem with a mouse is that it wears out quickly. The microswitches used for the left and right (but not the middle) button wear out, so a single press registers as a double press. The right button, which causes fewer problems than the left button, started registering randomly as a double click after about 6 months. It wasn't often enough to diagnose the problem and I didn't understand what was actually going on until recently. Unfortunately, the left button is now very bad. It got to the point that it became impossible to drag icons across the desktop. He often made 5 or 6 clicks per second. I decided to open this up and fix the micro switch (which voids my warranty) which fully fixed it in about 4 weeks. I probably didn't bend the copper plate enough and it started behaving again. I went back and repaired the micro switch again, I had to re-solder the connections when I untied them, which fixed the problem for a day. The mouse was primarily used for everyday use (browsing, programming, etc.) and casual gaming. Although I play a lot, I don't play heavy button-breaking games that often. To be honest, I'm disappointed that the mouse gave a shit on me so quickly. At this point I'm left with a warranty (which may or may not cover it) or fix it myself. Maybe 1 year is fine for regular mice but it feels like I bought this thing yesterday and I know from experience, that Logitech mice can perform better.
