Review on Levis Womens Lined Hooded Jacket Women's Clothing : Coats, Jackets & Vests by Denise Kirkeby

I rarely write reviews but I really want to write about this coat. Overall I gave it 4 stars; It's a nice warm coat and the faux fur is silky and warm and feels good. I usually wear size 10/12, ordered large. Fits great, even with a few layers of sweaters underneath. It's warm enough for my area, reaching into the mid 20's. It might not be warm enough for much colder weather. However, there are several design flaws. They don't break convention but they would be so easy to fix and the coat would be better if they were. The hood is huge. At first it seemed normal because I have a big head - I have to wear big men's hats; Women's hats are too small. But that hood is so low that it falls over my nose, blinding me and not lagging behind if you move at all. No problem, I thought, I'll just open the hood. However, the outer fabric seems to be made of Kevlar. It's quite flimsy, but so strong it actually bent a couple of the safety pins I used to check the sizing of the tucks. I finally managed to sew the hood hem, at the cost of some bloody fingers trying to stick the needle through the fabric, and now the hood fits perfectly. The zipper starts a few inches from the bottom of the jacket. . That's good, but the way the zipper tab is hidden in the cost hole makes it pretty awkward to find and unzip the end of the zipper. You have to be careful what you do - don't unbutton the coat, feel it. It would be better if the zip tab was wider or easier to find with a tail end or something. The last problem is that it's quite noisy. This outer shell makes an unexpected noise when you walk straight when your hands rub the sides of the coat. I have several other parks and they don't. I'm sure I'll get used to it or just walk around with my hands in really nice deep pockets so my hands don't move, but that's another weird downside to a really good coat.
