Fantastic entry level/budget steadicam system - received broken but easy to fix

First of all I have to say that this is my first purchase in the world of video stabilization. I've been researching this topic for a few weeks now and thought it was a good place to start. TL; DR I am very happy with it for the price having found a problem but was able to fix it easily. I'll start with the bad news. When I received it (photo #1) the bottom plate could not be pressed against the main shaft, causing it to rotate somewhat freely in a rapid yaw motion. It appears that either the bolt or the shank were not fully aligned to fully grip the plate. Luckily I had the right size washer and it worked great (photo #2). I don't know if this is a design flaw or if it was overlooked during construction, but it really should be here. Next, the only part that seems a little underdeveloped is the telescopic pole locking screw. The threads are quite small and the thumb grip is a little loose. But I think if you don't try, everything will be fine. I will update the review if there are any problems. Now the good news. That's literally all I can find wrong about him. It's a surprisingly well constructed device considering the price. It's 100% thick heavy metal. The stabilizer links are flawless and well aligned, the base plate has comfortable rubber feet to put on and the head is very solid. Yes, it doesn't have gears for minor adjustments, but it's enough to simply loosen, adjust, and retighten. I've already had some silky smooth shots with him and I think he only gets better as I build muscle. and the ability to deal with it.
