I was impressed with how well made this collar was. Looks very nice and is holding up well. It's good for leash training or sometimes just for picking up a pup when he's too excited. It has a leathery smell that isn't too intense, but it's good for those who don't like to bother. I personally like it. As other reviewers have pointed out, the chain seems to stain puppies' necks, but I ordered a $36 cloth collar with a chain, and the chain on this collar did the same thing. The fur only darkens under the chin but that doesn't take away from its functionality and I expect this will happen with any martingale collar that has a chain attached based on two of my recent purchases. If your dog is light-colored and that would bother you, look for another type. I'm sure there must be a way to prevent this reaction, I just didn't look into it. serious traction.
